In my efforts to entertain the older kids since Caris has been born, I’ve had to get a little creative. I’m still looking for things to do with them everyday, so if you have suggestions I’m open, but if you’ve come looking for some ideas of things to do with your kids, here’s a glimpse in photo’s of what we have been doing to pass the time.
First, we make sure we look our best and then take a picture so we will remember the moment in the years to come.
Second, we find some random magnifying glass around the house and experiment with what it can do in the sun with some mulch and dry leaves.
Cade almost had his peace of mulch on fire. It was fascinating for him to watch it burn and even more fascinating for me to watch him.
They both were impressed by the sun’s ability to burn mulch through a magnifying glass.
Third, we found a use for the random plastic containers we’ve had under the cabinets and planted some flower seeds Claire got for her birthday back in April.
It’s only been about 5 days and they have already started to sprout, despite the flood of water they have been given by their gardener Claire.
Fourth, we hold the baby whenever we can and try our best not to argue over who gets to hold her first. Cade finally got a turn today.
Fifth, I have a stack of books to read and review. These are just a few of what you’ll see reviewed here on the blog in the weeks to come if I haven’t reviewed them already. Marriage books seem to be the most prevalent right now that I’m receiving in the mail. So stay tuned for my reviews if you need some marriage advice…not that I have any, but these books ought to have something helpful in them to offer.
Sixth, we watch this precious little one grow and sleep. She eats a good bit too, but this is the way you’ll find her for most of the day.
It’s not the most glamorous of lives you may read about these days, but it’s our life and we’re making the most of it. If you have any suggestions to offer on what you are doing with your kids to pass the time, please send them my way. I’d truly appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Paige
