Today, Sunday July 11, 2010, is the day before I go in to deliver our little girl. Since all is quiet around my house right now I wanted to document at least for my own records what this day has been like and what has been going on. So if your interested read on and if not go ahead and click away to another site or just come back later this week and hear all about our new baby girl:)
I was planning on waiting for this little girl to arrive on her own sweet time, but since I’d really like for my husband to be there when she is born I’ve chosen to go be induced tomorrow. My husband, Captain Clay, is self employed as a charter captain and if he doesn’t work he doesn’t get paid and since he has charters the rest of the week and I’d like for him to keep providing for us, I decided to go ahead and be induced instead of waiting any longer. Also, I’m 39 weeks and as of last week I’m already dilating so she is bound to still come on her own tonight or was going to any time this week.
As for my children, my son is staying with a friend who’s parents took them to Bush Gardens and then they’ll have a sleep over tonight and my daughter is at my parents house for the night and all day tomorrow. Both are excited to meet their new sister tomorrow and didn’t seem to mind in the least bit leaving us for the night. I of course love the last bit of silence that I’ve gotten this afternoon, but still miss them while they are gone.
In regards to what all I’ve done today, it hasn’t been to exciting or noteworthy, but I wanted to write it all down anyway since the day is now almost a memory. We got up this morning, ate some cereal and cleaned up the kitchen. The kids were good for most of the early morning then some fights were breaking out so I told them to get their swimsuits on and we went to the neighborhood pool. All 4 of us went swimming and ate lunch up at the pool and enjoyed the morning. I told them after swimming they had a busy afternoon ahead of them so when we get home change your clothes quickly and take a nap so you won’t be grumpy the rest of the day. My kids rarely nap any more but both surprisingly agreed and slept for several hours.
I tried taking a nap with them, but just could never fall asleep so I got up folded some laundry and read a few more chapters in a book. After they left this afternoon, I talked to a few friends, sent a few emails and texts and sat on the back porch with Clay and enjoyed the silence. We still can’t believe we are having another baby and are both anxious to meet her. It’s a wild experience to have a child and for us it’s most certainly a blessing, but one that stirs up a lot of anxious emotions. We try to pretend we’re not nervous but the truth is we are both nervously excited and don’t quite know what to say or think at this moment. So instead of doing either, we’ve ordered pizza and wings for dinner and are going to watch a movie.
I’m going to try and get some sleep tonight, but if not I’ll probably blog again to give you something else to read in the morning.
If I don’t get a chance to post until after the baby gets here, then I’d love it if you’d pray for me and my family tonight and this week. Pray for a healthy baby and healthy mama. Pray for a quick and easy delivery with no complications. Pray for all fear and anxiety to leave and pray for my kids and those watching them while I’m not.
Thank you for taking time to read this and for your prayers. It means more to me than you know.
Sincerely,
Paige

Hey Paige, never been to your site; but just had to read it today. At this time you’ve already had the baby and so it seems it didn’t take long from the time you got to the hospital so I hope it was easy. I was praying you not even need to be induced. I will continue to pray for you and all your family. We both know what a blessing and delicate balance having a baby is; so that fact that’s she’s here is a sign of hope and trust. Keep walking by faith girlfriend. The Lord will provide your every need. love you.
Wow, this was a poignant post to accidentally stumble upon but I’m glad I did. I wish you the best. My wife and I have a lovely daughter, and for years since she was born we have been struggling with infertility in our efforts to conceive a sibling for her, so I have a soft spot for these kinds of posts.
