A weekend at the parks

by Paige on March 1, 2010

A week has passed already since my last post, and I’m not sure what my problem is with posting consistency, but here is an update mostly in pictures of what we did all week. Other than work pictures, which would have been somewhat boring to show, we took advantage of a local theme park and a “free” park in our area. For anyone with kids 5 and under, Bush Gardens Tampa is offering free passes to the park for an entire year for preschoolers so I made sure to take advantage of the offer and my mom so graciously blessed my husband and I with a pass for the year. The link for the free preschool passes is www.sesamestreetsafarioffun.com. The Sesame Street Safari doesn’t open until the end of March, but you can go ahead and get the pass now and start using it for the rest of the park. I took just Claire with me for our first visit along with a friend and her kids. The weather was beautiful and I look forward to becoming a frequent visitor to Bush Gardens:) Here’s a few pictures from our visit.

This was one of the tigers in the new Tiger exhibit. They are amazing creatures to say the least.

This was the best picture I could get of the two of us. We had just watched the Jungala actors perform on stilts and they freaked her out a bit.

Below are the Jungala men on stilts. They are a little scary for 3 yr olds, but very entertaining still for the rest of us:)

After our day at Bush Gardens we stayed home for a few days, rested up and went after church Sunday to a free park in our area called John Chesnut Park. Click HERE if you’d like directions. It’s in Palm Harbor, Fl and they have a great play ground, boardwalk and even a boat ramp for you boaters to spend the day on Lake Tarpon. We packed a picnic lunch and enjoyed a little family time for the afternoon. Here’s a few of the pictures I captured from our outing.

So now your up to date on what we’ve been doing. What about you? What’s on your agenda this week? Let me know if you have any great parks in the Tampa area that we should go visit, or if you come across any great deals on free admission to places. If it’s free it’s for me:)

Thanks for checking in.

Sincerely,
Paige
