“The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.” Proverbs 18:21 (NLT)
Lets face it, controlling what comes out of our mouth is difficult. Especially if life is not going the way you want it to. If you’re a parent then you especially know the power your words have in your home. Kids are watching our every move and listening to our every word and I don’t know about your kids, but mine model my behavior in more ways than I’m proud of.
A friend and I were talking about this topic and she told me of this great tip that she has done with her kids for years. She has these confessions below printed out and posted around her house and has her kids speak or confess them whenever they get a chance. If your kids can talk then they are old enough to speak these truth’s over their life. Plus it doesn’t hurt for us adults to speak a few of these truths over our life as well. I didn’t have time to put all the scripture references next to the confessions, but feel free to copy and past them into a Word document and print out a few copies for your home.
I truly believe there is power in the words we speak and the tone we use to speak them, so take these words and use the power in them to change your life and your child’s.
Sincerely,
Paige
