Zoo Adventure

by Paige on November 8, 2009

It’s been a busy week around our parts without much time to blog about all that has happened. One fun thing the kids and I did this past week was visit our local Lowery Park Zoo. I had a choice to make on that day, either let my house stay looking like animals live there, or actually take my animals (aka kids) to the zoo. I chose the latter and put the house keeping off till today, and it was definitely a good choice.

Our first stop at the zoo was to see the goats. Cade got tickled at the goats licking the food out of his hand. It was 50 cents for a handful of goat food and thankfully I ran out of change before the goats got full or otherwise we would have spent a small fortune on goat food:)

Next we went inside the goat pen to pet the goats and dodge their “Poop Turds” as the kids called them. Claire only wanted to pet the baby goats and Cade was fascinated by all the pooping. Why boys are so interested in poop is beyond me.

We then proceeded over to the Koi fish tank to take a look at all the pretty fish.

We eventually made it over to the giraffes and of course we had to fee them too. Giraffe food (1 cracker) was $2 a cracker. Maybe that’s what I should start selling.

We learned that giraffes can grow up to 19ft tall and this giraffe here was only a mere 16ft tall. What a shorty.

The kids and I made the most of our adventure to the zoo. If your looking to avoid your housework and entertain your little ones then I highly recommend the zoo, then when you all get home, tell them they have to help clean up the zoo your living in or otherwise their gonna go back and sleep with the animals.I’m kidding, but do make them help you clean up, you’ll appreciate those little animals (aka kids) so much more:)

Sincerely,
Paige
