Find Your Strongest Life: What the Happiest and Most Successful Women Do Differently By Marcus Buckingham.
“Over the last forty years women have secured for themselves greater opportunity, greater achievement, greater influence, and more money. But over the same time period, they have become less happy, more anxious, and more stressed; and, in ever-increasing numbers, they are medicating themselves for it.” (p.14) Can you relate to this quote from Marcus Buckingham’s latest release titled Find Your Strongest Life; What the Happiest and Most Successful Women Do Differently?
According to the research Marcus uses in his newest book, women today are working, juggling, succeeding, and beating expectations at every turn- and they are less happy than ever. Why is this and what can be done about it, are just a few of the questions Marcus tackles throughout this book.
From the very beginning of this book my attention was captured by the statistics and the personal stories shared about women who are juggling life and trying to figure out how to find their strongest life. One of the first things that impacted me from reading this book was that multitasking actually makes you dumber and increases your stress. Yes, you read that right. The more you multitask the dumber you get and the more stressed out you become, I don’t know about you but those are reasons enough for me to change my ways.
Throughout the book Marcus gives you practical tools to find your strengths and build a strong life around those strengths. If you want to know what your strengths are in order to start building your strongest life, then take the test on www.stronglifetest.com. My lead role was Motivator and supporting role was Teacher. (Just in case you wondered)
After taking the test, order you a copy of the book and let me know in a comment what your strengths are.
Sincerely,
Paige
