I loved reading this Ann, Thanks for sharing and for your honesty. Writing the goals have been helpful to serve as a reminder of what I'd like to accomplish but I'm like you , I've got great intentions and can get about 75percent of the things done then something fun comes up to distract me and I just don't want to get back to the task at hand.
Thanks for posting where you are where you are with things. It totally motivates me to get back to business. :)

I'm a little behind the 8 ball on this (being that you posted it last week and I am just now reading it), but here is my list from the week before and how I did with those goals, and what I still need to work on this week and beyond.

1. Time alone with the Lord, everyday - still working on it. I'm honestly only about 1 for 7 on this. The hardest part is "alone." There's not a lot of that around here.
2. Load of laundry (at least) every day - I'm doing well on this. I try to do 2 or 3 if I can to stay even more ahead of it. The most behind I was was yesterday when the girls and I had to fold about 4 loads in one sitting, but we got it done and today I did get my 2 loads done and one is already put away.
3. Clear sink of dishes before bed every night - I'm at about 75% on this - which is pretty good. :)
4. Bags & purses put away when we get home - I am doing well on this one - kids need reminding as they habitually drop their stuff on the floor, or wherever
5. Thaw accordingly for tomorrow's dinner - I have been really bad on this, even though we have a well-stocked fridge and pantry. I have just been pretty lazy about meal planning this week. With the time change over the weekend - dinnertime sneaks up on me so much faster!
6. Clean one room/area thoroughly each day - This has not been great. I think I've done it twice - once was my bathroom, and the other one is when I clean up the kitchen - and I wouldn't even call that thorough.

SO.... my goals are the same. I need to keep working on these until they become habits.

I love goals. Often I slip from achieving them but I think goals are important in our lives and in our children's lives and we must always be pressing forward. Goals give us vision and gives us something to work towards whether it be in attitude or actions.

My goals right now in this season in my life are:

1. Spend more time sitting at the feet of Jesus by reading/studying his word, listening for his voice and praying.
2. Maintain balance in my home life. Prioritize and support my husband, Steve and my daughter, Jade. I want my family to feel peace, love and order when they are home. A safe haven from a busy and fast paced world. I want Jade to know that her parents love her, support her, are interested in the things in her life. It's been a busy school year but I want to show her that she comes first in our lives. Give her love, attention and affection so that she does not have the need to seek it elsewhere.
3. I am involved in 3 bible study groups, which I love, but I have to keep a balance in my schedule. One of them is Sunday morning Sunday School, the second one is a weekly bible study and the third one is a monthly bible study group, which I am part of and feel God has called me to. I pray God would speak to my heart through them and also that God would use me as a clean vessel to minister to others.
4. To get healthy. Schedule exercise daily and be disciplined about it. It's not about getting "skinny" but rather healthy. It's my goal to get off of high blood pressure medication.
5. In this season of not being employed (it's been about 7.5 months), I would like to start and complete several projects in my home. Praying for focus and motivation.
6. In parenting, I would like to praise more and be more coach like. Lifting up, encouraging and edifying rather than critical, overly authoritative or overly strict. I pray for parental patience for a VERY strong willed 10 year old girl!
7. To explore and practice more of my own personal interests and hobbies. I love cooking. It's my only creative outlet and it is an expression of love for me. It makes me happy to cook and also to learn about culture and traditions through food. I also love photography. Not as a business but as an art. Capturing people, places and things makes me happy.
8. Spend more time with family and friends. Family get togethers, coffee date with a friend. Show them that their relationship is important to me. This is often difficult for me because of family needs and having a young child at home. This means we have a schedule to follow I don't have the luxury of doing things spontaneously. Nonetheless, I want to schedule and plan social meetings with those I love.
9. Judge less. There is a fine line between living a pure, holy and righteous life and becoming judgemental towards others who are different than me. I am not perfect and don't profess to be but as I continue on my journey in life, I pray that I will not have an attitude of being self righteous or judgement towards others. It's an easy line to cross and the Lord is showing me more and more to be careful not to cross this line. God is the great judge and the only one with authority to judge. It's my job to be gracious, forgiving, loving and edifying.
10. Keep up with my chores and responsibilities on a daily basis so that I don't have to put aside a whole day to clean and organize. Do a little bit each day so that my weekends are dedicated to my family and other activities.

I am going to print this list and put it on my refrigerator so I can see it every day! Thanks for this post Paige! Good luck with your goals and I pray you accomplish what you set out to do!

Blessings,

Mai Grace
